I might be the only one who ever reads this, but I just wanted to say that everything's going to be okay. I know there's so much right now that's terrifying; Monday was a terrifying day and it all seems to just be continually getting worse. But we are going to be okay, because we have been here forever and a small-minded, scared dictator isn't going to destroy an entire race of people. He does not own that kind of power, no matter what he thinks.

And by "we", I mean the LGBTQ+ people of America. The children, the adults, the elderly, those of all races and backgrounds. Those who are gay and lesbian and bi and pan and poly, trans and nonbinary and agender... boys and girls (ooh, good Conan Gray song, take a listen) and non-binary people and those somewhere in between and nowhere! All of us.

We are going to be okay, and we're not going anywhere. It's up to each individual person to decide what they're going to do, but we all have to do what's best for each of us. And whether that means passing as cis and straight to avoid suspicion or rallying with other LGBTQ+ people to make your presence known, do what's best for you. However you need to survive that doesn't hurt anyone else, do it. 

My mom sent me what I believe is a social media post this morning. I don't have the credit (sorry!), but I think it's important to share: 

    "but let's be very clear: queer and trans people were here before donald trump and will continue to be here after he's dead. whether or not you want us to exist is secondary to the simple fact that we do. the sun does not care if you sign an executive order telling it to stop rising each morning. it just continues to rise."

Basically, we transcend this political climate. Our existence transcends all the executive orders and whatever's on our passports and whether or not we have marriage certificates. The fact that we love who we love and have identities outside the gender binary transcends (boy am I loving the word transcend tonight haha) the President telling us we've been coerced into believing the lies of a corrupt society. Homosexuality and being transgender have existed for thousands of years, and will continue to exist for thousands of years after the end of the President's term. 

And we might not all make it out. I doubt we all will. But not all of us will be erased and lost in these four years. We all have our own little ways to fight, and we all have the potential to survive this. So sleep for now, my beautiful rainbows. We will live tomorrow and face whatever it brings, we will sleep, and then we will do it all over again until these horrors are over <3
